Owwww! Jacko Patented The Shoes for His Famous Smooth Criminal Lean

The secret is out, Michael Jackson actually patented the shoes which allowed him and his dancers to do that famous forward lean. It was a simple system that allowed the slotted heel shoes to slide into bolts attached to the floor therefore fixing the feet in position owwww! The rest is history as they say. He also tried to patent wearing one white glove but this was refused as it was just stupid!

He had 2 co-inventors (Michael L Bush and Dennis Tompkins) and the shoes were patented as long ago as 1993 with the Abstract reading as follows:

A system for allowing a shoe wearer to lean forwardly beyond his center of gravity by virtue of wearing a specially designed pair of shoes which will engage with a hitch member movably projectable through a stage surface. The shoes have a specially designed heel slot which can be detachably engaged with the hitch member by simply sliding the shoe wearer’s foot forward, thereby engaging with the hitch member.
