I Was Digging up a Few Carrots and look what I found!

Seriously though this Farmer had the shock of his ¬†life after trying to dig up what he thought was old fence post in a field near Chelsea in Michigan, USA. What he did find was a rib bone of a large Woolly Mammoth. Most Mammoths died out between 11,000 and 15,000 ¬†years ago and this one can be placed at around 10,000 years old. Mammoths are closely related to Elephants and it’s unusual to discover them in this area. Be careful what you dig up in your garden as that piece of wood sticking out the earth could actually be a piece of wood!
